Work Hard. Do Good.
I've spent much of my career as a tech entrepreneur and proud Providence Geek. I co-founded a number of tech businesses (Batchbook CRM and WorkingAway.io), organizations (Cloud Software Association), and political projects (Cookies For College Voters).
As a businesswoman and mother, I am committed to running and supporting companies that trust employees, cherish customers and do good in the world.
In 2006 I co-founded and successfully ran Batchbook CRM, providing tens of thousands of small businesses with online tools for managing their sales and marketing operations. I also co-founded The Small Business Web (now Cloud Software Association), the international trade association of cloud software for small business.
I enjoy sharing my experiences as an entrepreneur and expert on data management tools and methodologies and have been invited to speak at a number of events including the Women's Entrepreneurship Conference WomanCon (speaker), SXSWi (organizer and panelist, “How Start-Ups Do Deals with Industry Titans,” with Google, Intuit, American Express and Freshbooks), Jeff Pulver's 140conference London (speaker) and Small Biz Technology's Small Business Summit (panelist).
I've been interviewed in a number of major media outlets, including an interview with Bertha Coombs on CNBC discussing the impact of the Affordable Care Act on small business benefit strategies, the New York Times article "Businesses of Varied Sizes Find Customer Relationship Help," and and in depth interview as an Entrepreneur on Fire.
Though not a horn tooter myself, I am grateful when someone else does. I've been honored to receive a few industry awards including the Small Business Influencer Champion award given by Small Business Trends and Providence Business News' Women to Watch and 40 Under Forty awards.
Previously, I co-founded and managed operations at Matrix Group International, a web development firm in the Washington, D.C., area that develops web-based technologies for large and small trade associations. A former consultant to small businesses, my web career started in 1994, where I designed websites and managed online communications for U.S. Congressman Jim Clyburn and the Food Marketing Institute.
I have a BA in English from the University of Richmond. I currently reside in coastal Rhode Island with my two daughters, one son and a ham of a fluffy pup.
